City Ballet Raleigh is proud to include the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum. Our ballet lessons are classically organized, including stretching, barre work, pirouettes, petite, and grand allegro.
Modern dance students are introduced to basic contemporary techniques including contractions, oppositional energy, and improvisation.
All Jazz classes combine traditional jazz with the ever changing styles of today. Each fun and challenging class consists of a group of selected dancers who will explore performance opportunities and enhance their technique.
All tap classes focus on the development of a sharpened sense of rhythm, coordination, and clarity of sounds incorporating warm-up, rhythm sequences, and choreography.
Hip-Hop is a relaxed, freestyle form of street dance that is set in a high-energy, fun, and fast paced environment. Dancers will incorporate their own personal rhythm with the latest dance moves.
Our musical theatre classes build confidence and nurture a love of movement, music, and performance while training performers to feel comfortable dancing in the spotlight.
At City Ballet, we offer a diverse range of dance classes that cater to all ages and levels. Since 2017, the school has adhered to the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9-level program that combines high-quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development.
In addition to its annual production of The Nutcracker and a recital, City Ballet Raleigh performs at numerous community events, including the Holiday Tree Lighting at Lafayette Village, presents programs at libraries and Marbles Kids Museum, and performs at the Festival of NC Dance presented by the UNC School of the Arts.
